does indeed look like a carnation / cauliflower

it doesn't contain zooxanthellae which means it will need supplemental feeding ( phyto / micro plankton etc)

from a personal opinion i'd say take it back to the shop for a credit note or exchange as your chances of keeping it long term are next to nil

It's very pretty Jan

I had an orange one in the early days of my tank, but despite trying to keep it fed it only lasted a few months. I think we girlies are attracted by the pretty colours, but we live and learn

your so right linda  ive situated it where advised and target feed it , if someone more experienced lived nearby i`d happily have given it to them rather than risk it dying but doubt anyones anywhere near me ..oh well seems i have a mission now

Forget reef snow or anything named like it. Good quality live phyto will keep for well over a month in the fridge and you can culture your own if you like. Its also a thousand times better than dead crap in a bottle!!!!!

PS. I thought this thread was going to be something completely different based on the title!
