Postby rich_15 » Mon Mar 08, 2010 4:21 pm

The :wife: has decided she wants the room the tank is in repainting.

the wife has done it (without my knowledge when i was at work) - she also uses those irritating spray airfresheners in most rooms too , because generally she couldnt give a toss for the tank or indeed anything she hasnt phsyically paid for with cash from her own pocket.
Luckily there have been little ill effects that i am aware of...

Cheers Kane, My missus sprays air freshener as well. I was planning on turning the cieling fan on and putting 2 12in fans in the room as well to move the air and with the windows open was hoping it would be ok.

just turn the skimmer off for a couple of days until any fumes go and you will be fine ....

also cover the top with clingfilm when painting incase of splashes

i taped a sheet of hardboard over the tank top while painting the ceiling in the room my last tank was in, only for a half an hour or so... and poked a bit of 1/4" plastic hose outside for the skimmer to draw fresh air in.
be aware though this time of year it will cool the tank so heaters will be on a bit more....

Cheeers for the advice guys and LU. The new problem is that since we( :wife: ) have decided to decorate the room we ( :wife: ) have decided to pull up the laminate flooring and fit carpet. This means the tank is in the way. Looks like a strip down and empty........ :hair:
