The fisherprice skimmers have gone and added a flexy nozzle! Your guess is as good as mine!

Not content with all the americans jumping on the solid carbon dosing products Tetra have decided to bring out thier NitrateMinus Pearls. They come in 100ml, 250ml and 3l sizes with prices appearing over the channel of around 8 Euros for the smallest size and 70 Euros for the biggest.

Not exactly a piece of kit that anyone of us is going to be buying but ultimate reef kit porn it is! The Red Dragon 4 can pump 40,000 lph and can raise a head of 15 metres. Although this pump is beyond all but the largest budgets the features developed for it might well filter down to more mainstream pumps in the future.

I think those nitrate pearls are just a rebranding exercise .. I used those donkeys years ago in a south american system where I couldn't budge the nitrate.

When they were removed they made a perfect media for some baby plants.

Its been long awaited but GHL have announced the release in the not too distant future of the Vortech controller. UK pricing is yet to be announced but a discounted offer has been announced for the US so expect a similar deal here too.

Image

It will give you complete control of all wireless Vortech pumps and allow you to controll and change the in built modes of the Vortech as well as using the full pump controll of the GHL. The big restriction for some will be that it connects using the PAB interface that was introduced with the Profilux 3 and so Profilux 2 owners will need to upgrade to a P3 before they can add one of these bad boys.

Another new one.....Reef Nutrition who make a number of products such as the well known and fairly well used Phyto-Feast and Oyster-Feast are adding a new product to their range. Mysis-Feast is made in collaboration with Piscine Energetics and so is basically a fresh unfrozen bottle of PE Mysis.

In fairness to RN that bottle looks crammed with food rather than just a few floating around in a soupy gloop.

Good stuff if so
